Glide Around the Ice at a Nearby Rink

Ice skating is a fun activity that’s great for your heart and lungs.

This aerobic exercise can also help you feel more alert and energetic, and according to the Harvard Medical School, you may burn more than two hundred calories for every thirty minutes you’re on the ice.

When you are ready to lace up a pair of skates, nearby rinks include:

The Ice Ranch

The Ice Ranch is home to two rinks where visitors can enjoy public skating sessions, learn to play hockey, or participate in leagues. It also offers a fun recreational sport known as broomball. This game originated in Canada and consists of two teams of six players who try to hit balls in their opponent’s net using a stick called a broom. The team with the most points at the end is the winner.

South Suburban Ice Arena

The South Suburban Ice Arena is a nationally recognized skating complex, and it’s where several Olympic skaters got their start. Public skating is offered Monday through Saturday, and those who would like to improve their skills can take lessons from instructors who are friendly and knowledgeable.

Family Sports Ice Arena

The Family Sports Ice Arena is the practice facility of the Colorado Avalanche. When the team is not on the ice, visitors can enjoy public skate sessions that are offered at various times throughout the week. The first Friday of every month brings Rock n’ Skate from 8:00 p.m. to 10:00 p.m., and it’s fun for all ages.
