Check Out Denver Arts Week

Denver Arts Week is a highly anticipated nine-day celebration that features more than three hundred events at museums, concert halls, theaters, and art galleries.

It takes place November 3-11, and highlights include:

Denver Art Museum

The Denver Art Museum dates back to 1893, and it’s the largest museum of its type between Chicago and the West Coast. Its impressive collection includes more than seventy thousand works which visitors can see for free during Arts Week from 5:00 p.m. to 10:00 p.m. Current exhibits include “Stampede,” “Revealing a Mexican Masterpiece,” and “Ganesha.”

Denver Film Festival

The Denver Film Festival is the city’s premier fall event as it sells more than 50,000 tickets to over 250 films. This is the event’s fortieth year, and its vision is to cultivate community and transform lives through film. It takes place at several venues such as UA Denver Pavilions and the Ellie Caulkins Opera House, and film sections include Contemporary World Cinema, Culinary Cinema, and Creative Conversations.

Breakin’ Convention

Don’t miss the Breakin’ Convention as it is the biggest festival of hip-hop dance theater on the globe. Hosted by famed UK dancer Jonzi D, this event features world champion dancers who will impress the crowd with cutting edge moves.

First Friday Art Walk

The First Friday Art Walk is where visitors can meet local artists and buy original works of art at reasonable prices. Neighborhoods to explore include the 40 West Arts District and the Tennyson Street Cultural District.
