Jason Klobnak is a well-respected trumpet player whose quartet features high-caliber musicians known for both their professionalism and versatility. Their first two albums received critical acclaim, and their newest release features songs written for specific family members and close friends.
They keep audiences entertained from start to finish, and play songs such as “Why Couldn’t We?” “Breaking Point,” and “The Other Side of Circumstances.”
Shemekia Copeland (April 18 & 19)
Shemekia Copeland performs a variety of genres, and the Chicago Tribune states that she delivers “gale force singing and power with a unique, gutsy style.” She began performing at a young age and released her debut album when she was just eighteen.
Shemekia’s repertoire includes “Outskirts of Love,” “Mississippi Mud,” and “Never Going Back to Memphis.”
Ken Walker Sextet (April 27)
Ken Walker began playing the upright bass when he was a student at Arkansas Tech University. He moved to Denver in 1985, and two years later, he started playing at the legendary jazz club El Chapultepec.
Today, Ken is a regular at Dazzle, and when he performs with his sextet, songs include Highlife,” “Boogie Woogie Bossa Nova,” and “Just One of Those Things.”
