Go Hiking Near The Retreat At Park Meadows

One of the greatest draws to Colorado is the magnificent scenery the Rocky Mountains have to offer at every turn. Take a day out of your busy schedule to step out of your home at the Retreat at Park Meadows and explore the nature around you!

No more than ten minutes away from the Retreat at Park Meadows is Bluffs Regional Park Trail, hosting beautiful scenes of the Colorado Front Range mountains in one direction and the bustling Denver metro area in the other. The 2.7 to 3.5 mile loop is great for children and beginner hikers due to its short track and small 200 foot elevation gain, but don’t let this easy trail turn off more experienced hikers; the trail still offers beautiful scenery and is perfect for bicyclers, dog-walkers, equestrians, and hikers alike. Only a couple of minutes past Bluffs, Glendale Open Space Trail offers many of the same views and opportunities, though with a trail loop about half as long and an added 17-acre off-leash area for dogs.

If a longer traveling period is available, swing over to Chatfield State Park, about 35 minutes away, for recreation along the Platte River. Go boating on the lake or take your bike, your boots, or even your horse shoes on one of the multiple trails by the Platte. The flat, easy trails are relatively developed with restrooms sprinkled throughout. Make your hike as long or as short as you want by combining the various trails.

For a more rural experience, about 45 minutes away is Roxborough State Park. Bring your camera because the hiking trails are covered in unique rock formations and are highlighted by the Rockies in the background. There are trails for every level of hiker and with over 4,000 acres to explore, there is no boredom to be had for even the most experienced of hikers.

No matter who you are, the close proximity to the mountains offered by the Retreat at Park Meadows is a jewel to treasure. Contact us and visit our blog for more information about our apartments and the surrounding area!
